Director, producer Michael Butts, born Libertyville, Illinois, July 19th, 1983, began his love for film at the young age of 10 when he created home videos with his dad’s VHS camera. He continued making videos all though his child hood and eventually started writing screenplays in high school.

After graduating High School in 2002, Michael attended York Technical College in Rock Hill, South Carolina where he received a Technical Certificate in Tele-Production Technologies. Shortly after graduating from York Technical College Michael was hired on as a technical director for CN2 News where we worked for 4 years.

Wanting to pursue a career in film Michael joined the U.S. Army at the age of 26 where he serviced his country for 4 years. Afterwords, Michael moved to Tennessee and attended the Nashville Film Institute and graduated with a Degree in Cinema Production in October of 2014.

Shortly after graduating NFI Michael produced and directed his very first short film under his production One Bandit Productions L.L.C. which was a drama/horror titled “Hair of the Dog”. The film went on to win several awards in the film festival circuit.

Michael furthered his education by obtaining an A.A.S. in Video Production at Volunteer State Community College, during which Michael has gone on to produce and direct several more award-winning short films including “Quitting”, “Cold Snap”, and “Potter’s Ground”.

Micheal has also worked on several music videos, industrial commercials, a hunting show called “Where in the World is Colorado Buck?” and a couple feature films.

Michael continues to work hard and strive towards what he loves.
