Kim D Bailey is a published author who writes short stories, poetry, creative non-fiction, and Women’s Fiction. She is currently writing her third novel, and will be writing a fourth novel on November as she will also be CoML for NaNoWriMo for the Chattanooga area. She has also collaborated to co-edit an anthology, of which is now in the process of being assembled for print.
She has been published in MORE Magazine, Firefly Magazine, Pilcrow & Dagger, Tuck Magazine, The Scarlet Leaf Review, Madness Muse Magazine, Sick Lit Magazine, Drunk Monkeys, The Magnitizdat Literary, and as a guest blogger on writersdigest.com on Senior Content Editor Robert Lee Brewer's, There Are No Rules Blog--all in 2016.
In 2017, she's been published by The Scarlet Leaf review, in their second print edition ever, and online Marianne Szlyk also published Kim in her blog zine, The Song Is.
Kim joined Five 2 One Magazine in June 2016 as a weekly columnist. She left the column and magazine in September 2017 after writing 50 column pieces. Kim was Social Media Manager for Five 2 One for three months.
She worked as Poetry Editor for Firefly Magazine, and is now the Short Story editor for the magazine. She also worked is a contributing editor for Caravel Journal of Literary Arts and Sick Lit Magazine.
Kim was nominated for The Pushcart Prize in 2016 for her nonfiction essay, "I Took It Back," a story about how she confronted the man who molested her at age 11.
In January 2017, Kim was published on Louise Wareham Leonard's 52 Men The Podcast with her story of the man she once married, titled "Lachesis," a follow up to "I Took It Back."
She is the mother of four grown children, Zach, Wes, Robin, and Noah. She is a proud LGBTQ supporter with transgender family members.
Kim lives with her soul companion, Shan Spradlin. They write poetry, sing and play guitar (well, Shan does), watch movies, Game of Thrones, and Vikings, enjoy their dogs, go to church, read the Bible, love, and pray.
Kim holds a Bachelor of Liberal Studies from the University of Oklahoma.
