Producer, Director of Photography, Art Director, Underwater Cinematographer: Gary always brings his passion for The Arts to the projects at hand.
Gary studied and practiced fine and commercial art from early childhood. "I remember as a young boy, I was always drawing or painting something. My mother used to challenge me - when she saw something that pleased her - saying 'draw me a picture of that,' and I ALWAYS would. I guess that was sort of my first experience with clients, requests, and deadlines!"
Gary has over thirty years of experience in commercial art, graphic design, photography and film. He maintained the position of lead image editor and designer / Director of Photography for one of the largest service bureaus in the southeast, from 1988-2002. While there, he won several awards, including two Scitex image editing awards. Gary was exclusive image editor/artist for Special Reports magazine, and contributing artist/art director for Esquire magazine - Whittle Communications publications.
While at Precision Litho, Gary worked closely with Adobe inc as a consultant in the development of Photoshop. At that time, he had worked as Scitex Imager artist for over five years. He co-developed first color LUTs for Photoshop.
Film/TV, Video experience/credits include the following: producer, line producer, director, art director, screenwriter, DP, camera operator, SteadiCam operator, Underwater Cinematographer. Projects include: feature films, short films, documentaries, TV episodes, commercials, music videos, and corporate promotional.
Gary and Willis LRSC also provide expert military advising/consulting and set/talent security for events and feature films.
Gary is an Army Special Operations/Reconnaissance combat veteran: Communications Specialist attached to E Co (LRSC) 109th MI Bn, 9th ID Scout Co: Airborne/Ranger/Combat Diver.
He works closely with DAV and disabled veterans. Currently active in assisting VA with providing housing for homeless veterans.
