Posted on: Thursday - Oct 9, 2014

The 17th annual Indie Memphis Film Festival will be held Oct. 30 through Nov. 2 in Memphis, Tenn. This year’s festival will include more than 45 features and documentaries and will be held across four different venues in Memphis’ Overton Square.

The Indie Memphis Film Festival is ranked by MovieMaker magazine as one of the “25 Coolest Film Festivals” and expects to draw crowds over 12,000 strong across the four-day festival.

Films include “The Better Angels,” focusing on the strenuous childhood of Abraham Lincoln, and “The Imitation Game,” staring Benedict Cumberbatch of “Sherlock” and “August: Osage County.” Panel discussions will follow most of the showings, allowing attendees to participate in question-and-answer sessions with filmmakers and special guests.

The Tennessee Film, Entertainment & Music Commission’s (TFEMC) Executive Director Bob Raines will be in attendance to meet with local filmmakers, and a TFEMC sponsored reception will be held during the festival to give filmmakers an opportunity to network with people in the industry.
