Submissions for the Roy W. Dean Short Film Grant are due by April 29th, 2023. Grant seeks short narrative fiction films that are unique and that make a contribution to society. Winner of the grant gets $3,000 and thousands more in donated services to help them complete their film.
Grant sponsor, 501(c)3 non-profit From the Heart Productions, offers each applicant to the grant a 15 minute consultation on their project with board member Carole Joyce. Filmmakers can get advice on how to fund their film, build up a database of donors, market their film, and more.
In addition to the $3,000 cash prize, the winner will also receive $3,000.00 in music and audio services from well-known composer David Raiklen, $6,000.00 in animation from Emmy award winner Charlie Canfield, $1,400 value (4 hours of sound mix session) from Silver Sound, and more from other donors supporting indie filmmaking.
