Memphis Tennessee has been named one of MovieMaker Magazine's Best Places to Live and Work as a Moviemaker in 2021, ranking 16th out of 25 cities across the U.S. and Canada.
Memphis & Shelby County Film Commissioner Linn Sitler said “We’re working together as a City and a County and a State to not only survive, but —hopefully, by helping each other — to prosper. Memphis has always welcomed film, video, and -later -digital projects from its own citizens and from out-of-towners and even international crews. I’m not sure there’s any other place in the country whose citizens are so enthusiastic about the industry!”
According to MovieMaker Magazine's editorial staff, winners were determined by using surveys, research on tax incentives and recent productions, and personal visits to most of the locations on the list, as well as the best available information on how they’re coping with the pandemic.
