Short film Look by director Ryan Pickett of Nashville, Tennessee wins its fourth accolade The Silver Lei Award at the 2012 Honolulu Film Awards. Look has earned some prestige with several film competition awards, including the Best Shorts Competition Award of Merit, Accolade Competition Award of Merit, and the Gold Award in the California Film Awards. 

(USA) Short film Look by director Ryan Pickett of Nashville, Tennessee wins its fourth accolade The Silver Lei Award at the 2012 Honolulu Film Awards. Look has earned some prestige with several film competition awards, including the Best Shorts Competition Award of Merit, Accolade Competition Award of Merit, and the Gold Award in the California Film Awards. Pickett is currently profiled in the 2012 Vol. 7 No. 1 edition of Student Filmmaker Magazine, which shows photos from Look as well as Pickett’s tips for successful filmmaking. Pickett utilizes visual poetry to show that the desire for beauty reveals an unsettling emptiness.

While attending Watkins College of Art, Design and Film, Pickett shot Look on the RED One 4K. Pickett has worked in the entertainment industry for over ten years when he held positions at companies that include Filmhouse, Ascent Media, Henninger Media, Washington Redskins and Playboy Enterprises. When Pickett studied at Stella Adler, he played the Young Oscar Bluth in television series Arrested Development. Pickett made an earlier film You Only Loved Me Twice that helped earn him a top 5 finalist spot in the showcase event in the USA for Global Entrepreneurship Week film entrepreneurship competition The Race to BE hosted by media mogul Russell Simmons at Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles. Pickett was profiled in Nashville Business Journal, and he was voted The Best Filmmaker in the Nashville Scene.

The 2012 Honolulu Film Awards will be held May 12, 2012 along the pristine shores of the world-famous Waikiki Beach at the beautiful and world-famous Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa.
